The latest Italian Cuisine and Wines World Summit of Hong Kong, 1st to 6th November 2011, closed with the accompaniment of a long series of articles and commentaries appearing in the press and TV in Hong Kong, Italy and around the world. The finals took place on November 4 and the winner was Chef Eyck Zimmer, Chef de Cuisine at the Derby Restaurant & Bar. Chef Claudio Dieli, Hong Kong Jockey Club came in second in what the judges said to be a very close final.
The Consorzio Prosciutto di Parma was one of Partners of the next Summit. Parma Ham, one of the symbols of the Italian Cuisine success in the world, was the protagonist of a Festival that was held in some of the restaurants hosting the Summit.
This year, the Summit had a particular interest in spreading the importance of the Autochthonous Wines which are the very essence of Italian winemaking. The Italian Autochthonous Wines Festival is organized in collaboration with Italy Small Vineyards.
